Christmas 2007 was our first Christmas as a married couple and also in a house of our own. We were able to decorate our own tree and start some decorations around the house. We weren't able to do a lot, but we will add on each year! As we decorated the house, we were reminded of how blessed we are to be in a home and to be blessed with the love of Christ and the love of one another! We had a GREAT Christmas together! The picture above is the Nativity my Aunt Maryellen stared for us when we were engaged (its a tradition). Last Christmas, my Mother-in-law added the shepherd and some animals for us. This Christmas, both of our Mom's helped to finish the collection, so next year, the Wisemen, more animals, and the stars in the sky will make it to the birth if baby Jesus.

"O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree how lovely are thy branches..." At least they were lovely until she took a fall! This year, Andy and I went out to buy our first tree! We had a fun time together, and picked out what we thought was the best tree on the lot! We got it home, put it in the stand, put the lights and ornaments on, then stepped back to take a look. It seemed to be crooked, but no matter what way we tried to fix it, it still looked lopped sided. So we just left it (that was Sunday after Thanksgiving). As we vaccuumed the floor and cleaned up from the tree mess, I noticed pink spot on our carpet and it was where the vaccuum cleaner had been. Some how there was a red ribbon (still not sure where it came from) that was wrapped around the vaccuum and leaving pink marks on the carpet. Thankfully it came up with RESOLVE! It was a crazy day decorating the tree.... and then the story continues! Monday afternoon rolls around, and I call Andy to let him know I am on my way home. He doesnt answer? So I called him a few minutes later, and he answered. The reason he didnt pick up earlier was because he had the tree in his hands..... it had fallen over onto the couch. We finally got it to look straight, and it didnt fall over again, but our tree did have a big hole in it after that! The other thing we didnt have when we put the tree up was a topper. So monday I stopped by Target to get one. We got the tree back up, put the topper on, and when Andy went to straighten it, it broke in his hands!? So... we had to take it back and get another one that was sturdier! MERRY CHRISTMAS!
