The bumper is complete!! I have learned much about sewing in my time with the bumper!
1. Make sure you own a seem riper.... you will make mistakes! Trying to loosen a stitch with a straight pin and cut with scissors is a pain in the rear!
2. Make sure all ribbon or other loose items are out of the way of the needle when sewing! It will get sewn even if you don't want it to, and then you have to rip it out and start over again (without a seem riper)!
3. Make sure you own a seem riper... you will make mistakes!!!
4. Changing your needle is really not hard! Next time, don't break the needle, but if you do, it isn't hard to put a new one in! (thanks to my grandmother who left me extras in the little box of supplies!)
5. Make sure you own a seem ripper... you will make mistakes!!!!!!!
6. If for some reason your stitches are loose, call a friend and have them rethread the machine for you. There is something about a magical touch from a friend that makes it work when you can't make it work (even though they did the same exact thing you did)!
7. Lastly, make sure you own a seem ripper... you will make mistakes!!!!!!!!!!
(I still have yet to remember to buy one, but hopefully by the time I start the bed skirt, I will have remembered to go to hobby lobby and get one!)
Here is a picture of the bumper in the crib! I didn't tie all the ties down because I am going to have to take it out to put the bed skirt in, but you get the idea!
