Childress Winery

Andy and I have this "goal" of touring the different wineries in the state of North Carolina within the first 10 years of our marriage.  Then for our 10 year anniversary, we take a trip out to the wine country of California.  Next stop at anniversary number...?... the wine country of Italia!  If you remember, we toured four wineries on our first anniversary trip, and my 27th birthday was celebrated with stop number 5..... Childress Winery!

They grow their own grapes, but also have some imported.  The building has three floors and was built with a stucco tuscan theme.  Inside, they have a Bistro to grab a bite to eat and a tasting room with lots of fun things to purchase.  The tasting is not free, but you get to take home your tasting glass that has an etched C on it.  They also offer a free tour of the facility every hour.  They had some great wines at the tasting, and we brought two bottles back with us.  It was a great time, and I would definitely recommend the Childress Winery as a place to go for a simple day trip!
