Last easter, Lorie Williams gave me one of the easter lilies she donated to decorate the church. I planted it in the from yard and it was pretty, then died. In my abundant knowledge of plants, I pulled the dead plant out the the ground. (if you know anything about plants, you know that was NOT the right thing to do). Thankfully, I did not pull the bulb out when I pulled up the plant! So you can guess this spring when two little green things started sprouting out the ground, I was surprised and asked myself, "What is that?" As they grew, I realized they were the green stalks of the easter lily. In discussion with friends, I learned much about the easter lily and this year, I will just cut it back when it dies and look forward to next year!
